Being a god of the stars has its benefits; money, fame, prestige and the oh so important immortality. Jeddron had lived this life to the fullest but as of late, he'd been using his immortality to excess. Within the last five days, Jeddron had been podded a total of seven times with two being from friendly action.
.....
"Again?" the now familiar technician asked Jeddron as he emerged from the changing room.
"Yes Aaron, that's the eighth time this week"
As Jeddron walked across the room, he pulled out a datapad to check his inbox. "We regret...' blah blah....just...ok there, five-million for replacement...well, better than nothing."
"Some day I'll learn to buy insurance Aaron, some day. Have a good one, hopefully we don't see each other again for a long while this time." He said walking out the door but then stopped, and popped his head back in 'Make sure my clone gets updated will you?"
"Anything for a valuable, frequent customer Jed"
.....
Jeddron sensed that he was free, the clamps holding down the Phoenix VI had been released. The stations automated undocking controls took over to get Jeddron into space. As the taranis' systems hummed in his head, he swiveled the camera drones around to take a final look at a station he was slowly coming to know as home.
.....
Exiting the mouth of the station, the overbearing presence of the foreign undocking controls left his senses. The Phoenix felt good, no, he felt good. The vastness of space encompassed him much as the the pod goo did in his pod. He opened his star map and set destination back to the lawlessness of nullsec. A thought later, he was in warp passing the systems star and listening to the computer generated wind. If only he were on a planet, he imagined, he could feel the wind blowing through his hair.
.....
As he hopped through into the last system before entering nullsec, he checked his mail one final time. He brought up his market display to see if there had been a drop in implant prices or if he would have to work with his agent to get a cheap set. All his affairs in order, Jeddron aligned himself to the out gate and initiated warp. The breeze sailed past once again, and he felt as if the warm sun was beating upon his face. When the Phoenix landed he activated the gate and prepared for what may lay ahead.
